Marky Cielo (or "Buknoy" as he was known to his family and friends) was born in Butuan in Agusan del Norte. He was a promising young Filipino actor and dancer who became one of the first rising stars ever to join the popular reality-based artista program StarStruck, where he won the Ultimate Sole Survivor title of Batch 3. . . . . . he earned a string of fans' votes, with titles including appearances in the folllowing - Yes! Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful, Candy Mag's 100 Candy Cuties, & Cosmopolitan Top 69 Bachelors . . . . .Cielo appeared in several GMA-7 Channel shows including Encantadia, Fantastikids (where he played the leading role of Daniel Trinidad), Bakekang, Asian Treasures, Boys Nxt Door, Kaputol ng Isang Awit, Codename: Asero, and most recently LaLola in which he portrayed the character Billy Lobregat. . . . . . Check out www.markycielo.net .......... He died unexpectedly in his sleep in Antipolo, Philippines on Dec-7-08, and at the time of writing, the true cause of death is yet to be established. He was finally laid to rest on Dec.15-08 after his remains were brought back to Bauko, Mt. Province. He was just 20 years old.
