Lux Interior was the singer, songwriter, and founding member of the pioneering New York horror-punk band the Cramps. The Cramps, who had played regularly at both CBGBs and Max’s Kansas City, were formed in 1976 after being influenced by the NYC punk scene led by The Ramones and the New York Dolls. There were many changes to the band's lineup over the years but always included Lux and his wife, "Poison" Ivy Rorschach. The story goes that he had met his wife (then known as Kristy Wallace) when he picked her up in 1972 as a hitch-hiker in Sacramento California - forming the band after they found they had so much in common. The B-movie feel to a Cramps show was enhanced by Lux's stage antics, which were reminicent of Iggy Pop. ..... Lux sadly died of an existing heart condition in Glendale, California on 4-Feb-09, he was 62. Refer also to http://www.cramps.de/bio/bio.htm
