Daniel Hume

22 year old Daniel Hume was from Maidenhead in Berkshire, he was a keen snowboarder and a skilled downhill mountain bike racer. He joined the British armed forces in 2007, after which his family commented that he was the happiest they had ever seen him. DSaniel was serving as a Rifleman in the 4th Battalion The Rfles. Sadly, in the summer of 2009, he was killed whilst serving on a tour of duty in the Afghan conflict. On Thursday 9th July, whilst on foot patrol near Nad e-Ali in Helmand Province, he was killed when a roadside bomb exploded.
